The Divine Mercy Apostolate Annual Diocesan retreat held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Pastoral Center under the theme "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more." (Jn. 8:11) ran from Sunday 30th August to Tuesday 1st September. The Retreat Master was Fr. Japheth Tibui who also doubles as their Diocesan Chaplain. It was attended by members from allover the Diocese especially those in the city of Kumba. Day one saw the introduction of the theme of the retreat which highlighted sub topics such as "The two-way encounter" and "Condemnation and Divine Mercy". Members were also given time for personal reflection and meditation. The second day of the retreat was characterized by more talks. This was followed by penitential service and the celebration of the Sacrament of Confession. The day came to an end with a general meeting to discuss the way forward for the Divine Mercy Apostolate in the Diocese and in our various Parishes and Pastoral Zones. The Chaplain encouraged the old members to be worthy ambassadors of the apostolate so as to attract new members especially the young.
During the closing Mass on Tuesday, the Retreat Master exalted the members to be Missionaries and true Apostles of the Divine Mercy, not only by preaching it, but also living it by example, and that members should never forget the 3:00pm hour of Divine Mercy especially on Fridays where ever they find themselves. It was a moment of Divine Encounter and a time of grace especially for those who were attending the retreat for their first time.
